Office Garden
Date
2024
Locatie
Beernem, Belgium
Designed by
Barbara Claerhout
The bold design of this office garden is introduced by the Cacti bed at the reception. The various shades of green of the Cacti are contrasted by the rusty stainless steel planter. As you move through the office, the patio plays a key role in the open architectural layout, adding light and color to the surrounding offices. A multi-stemmed Cercis siliquastrum, a robust granite rock, and flashy yellow grasses turn the patio into abstract art. This effect will be even more pronounced in Spring, when the bright pink blossoms of the Cercis will be in full bloom.
The long, straight axis in the office focuses on a Quercus ilex in the back garden where a garden path, marked by three majestic boxwood spheres, swings slightly upwards through planting beds. At the top of the garden, a lunch table is placed, overlooking the garden and the office. The two granite rocks refer to the one in the patio, linking everything together.
